Harta feministă a Europei după Karen Offen

By the terms ‘’Europe’’ and ‘’European’’ I am reffering not merely to Western Europe but to a variety of nations, states, and cultures of the Eurasian continent situated on the territorial land mass west of the Ural Mountains, plus certain of the contiguous islands and to cultures that have developed within in the Judeo-Christian tradition, primarily on the Roman Catholic/Protestant side. I am exploring debate about the relations between the sexes in the territorial-nation states that we refer to (in English) as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Poland, the current Czech state, the Scandinavian states of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland and in Russia and Greece (…). I have not included modern Turkey or other dominantly Islamic southern European cultures in this study, as they are rooted in a very different set of cultural presuppositions. Nor have I included small states such as Andorra, Luxembourg or San Marino (…). Unfortunately, our ignorance is still great as concerns feminist developments before 1945 in many parts of northeastern and southern Europe such as Latvia and Estonia or Slovakia and Croatia; scholarship on the early stages of feminist activity in these countries is just beginning.
